What is it?
With the Radioplayer Partner API (WRAPI) you can integrate smart voice control within your hybrid radio app.
Radioplayer provides phonetics metadata, allowing radio stations to be identified by previous or partial names in a human-friendly way by your customers
For instance, a radio station such as Capital London radio would be returned if the user said "Capital FM", "Capital", or "95.8 Capital FM".
In car applications and other situations where a handsfree/screen-free experience is preferable, integrating voice services leads to a more intuitive and safer user experience
The service also provides hints to voice services as to the correct pronunciation of station names.
Who is this for?
Developers of hybrid radios, particular those working on car radios and trying to minimise the opportunities for driver distraction through hands-free operation.
What do you need?
To start building a hybrid radio using the Radioplayer Partner API (WRAPI), developers should already be working with a voice assistant service (such as Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa or a similar option) and the service should be capable of handling pronunciation techniques such as pidgin English and SSML.
